The National Skills Qualification Framework (NSQF), an initiative by the Indian government, identifies knowledge and skills as the foundation of social and economic advancement. It recognizes the need for skill development for adolescents and students in turn for a country to progress. With a strong NSQF set up across the country, India’s economy can address the existing imbalance between the supply and demand for skilled labour in vital industries like manufacturing, healthcare, hospitality, automotive, sports, computers, beauty and wellness among many others.
NSQF is a nationally integrated education framework which covers vocational education, general education as well as technical education. This quality assurance framework helps students, learners and youth gain the required level of vocational training. The grades for these levels run from 1 to 10, making it a competency-based skill framework.
Why NSQF?
The National Skills Qualification Framework equips youngsters with the right skill set and contributes in bridging the gap between industry demands and a skilled workforce. In order to better meet the market needs, institutions can also partner with companies to provide industry training under NSQF.

Every year, our NSQF training programme benefits at least 2 lakh students in India. The programmes are conducted in 13 sectors and across 1,890 schools. Each school has a different vocational training course, depending on the school’s region and skill shortage identified by the government. So far, in 17 states, we have made a massive impact with the largest number of beneficiaries and are on a steady path to make India’s future generation – a skilled generation.
Apart from training and skilling, Skill Tree also takes it one step further by organising placement assistance, query discussion sessions, prepping a candidate’s profile and carrying out mock interviews. Our efforts and its positive outcomes have also been published widely in local and national media. With these practices, we make sure we stay true to our promise of driving India’s growth story.
